Barcelona is one of Virgin Voyages' marquee Mediterranean homeports — and a city worth arriving early for. Here's how to make embarkation day smooth.
Which terminal?
Virgin uses one of Barcelona's cruise terminals — either the World Trade Center terminal (right by the city) or a terminal at Moll Adossat. You'll be told which 2–3 days before you sail in the Virgin Voyages app, so check there before you head over.
Getting there
From Barcelona Airport (BCN) it's about 20–30 minutes to the port. A taxi runs roughly €40–50 (fixed airport fare), with rideshare and pre-booked transfers in a similar range. From a city-center hotel it's a short €15–25 taxi. Aim to arrive at your Terminal Arrival Time — not before; luggage drop typically opens around 9:00 AM.
Make a trip of it
Fly in at least a day early (especially in the busy May–October season) so a delayed flight never threatens your sailing — and so you get a day in one of Europe's great cities. Stay near the port or in the Gothic Quarter, drop your bags with a luggage-storage service after checkout, and explore until it's time to board.
