A little insider knowledge makes your first Virgin cruise even better. The most common "I wish I'd known" moments:

• Not downloading the app early — check in and book your top restaurants and shows before you sail.

• Assuming tips are included — as of late 2025 gratuities are usually separate, so budget for them.

• Over-packing dressy clothes — there are no formal nights; pack "like you," plus a red item for Scarlet Night.

• Skipping the Bar Tab math — if you'll drink, pre-loading a Bar Tab gets you bonus value.

• Panicking about "sold-out" dining — only a third of tables are released pre-cruise; more open once aboard.

• Forgetting the little extras — magnetic hooks, reef-safe sunscreen, and your own wine (up to two bottles).
