Lock It In (GTY): How Guarantee Cabin Rates Work
Virgin's Lock It In rate (a "guarantee," or GTY) is a lower price in exchange for a little flexibility: you choose the category (say, Sea Terrace), and Virgin assigns your specific cabin later.
The trade-off
Pro: often the lowest way into a category — great if location is less important to you.
Con: you can't hand-pick the exact cabin, and it could be anywhere in that category.
Worth knowing
Guarantee rates can sometimes be repriced if fares drop, and rules around upgrades and bids vary — which is exactly the kind of thing we track for you. If you're comfortable with a surprise cabin to save money, it's a smart play; if you have strong location preferences, a standard rate may be worth the few extra dollars.
