Gratuities & Tipping on Virgin Voyages (2025 Update)
For years, Virgin Voyages proudly included gratuities in the fare. That changed on October 7, 2025, and a lot of older articles are now out of date — so here's the current, accurate picture.
What you'll pay now
Gratuities are now a separate daily service charge: about $20 per Sailor, per night if you prepay before you sail, or $22 per night if it posts to your account onboard. It applies to every cabin and every fare tier — Base, Essential, and Premium alike (no tier bundles it in).
A couple of important notes
If you booked before October 7, 2025, your cruise generally keeps the old all-in structure with gratuities included.
Beyond the daily charge, extra tipping is not expected. If a bartender or cabin host wowed you, a little cash is a kind gesture, but never required.
The one thing to remember: budget the daily gratuity into your trip cost. When we quote you, we'll make sure it's accounted for so there are no surprises.
