How to Book Your Restaurants on Virgin Voyages
Because Virgin's restaurants are included rather than upsold, reservations are free — but the popular times fill up, so a little planning pays off. The good news: it's all done from your phone.
When booking opens
Your reservation window depends on your fare type, and Virgin restructured this in late 2025. As a general guide, dining opens roughly 15 to 120 days before you sail — the higher your fare tier (and RockStar suites first), the earlier you can book. Rather than memorize the tiers, just check your own window in the app; it'll tell you the moment you're eligible.
How to reserve
It's all in the Virgin Voyages app: head to Discover → Ship Spaces → Eateries, pick a restaurant, choose brunch or dinner, set your party size, and grab a time (you can also book from your account on the website). There's no charge to reserve. Prefer not to fuss with it? That's what we're here for — tell us your must-tries and we'll help you plan the week.
New: skip the wait with Virtual Dining Queues
Virgin has rolled out a feature called Virtual Dining Queues — a digital waitlist built right into the app. Instead of standing outside a restaurant hoping for a table, you join the queue from your phone, carry on with your evening, and get a notification when your table is ready. It makes walk-up dining far less of a gamble, especially at the busy spots.
If your favorite looks fully booked
Don't panic — Virgin deliberately releases only about a third of tables before sailing and holds the rest for once you're aboard, so your odds are better than they look. Once on board you can:
Book at the dedicated desk on embarkation day (often set up in Razzle Dazzle in the early afternoon), or at Sailor Services after day one.
Use Virtual Dining Queues or simply walk up during dinner service and join the waitlist.
Lean on the always-open spots — The Galley, the diner, the pizza place, and The Dock House — no reservation needed.
How many reservations you get
Dinner reservations are capped by trip length — about one per restaurant on short sailings, two on 6+ night voyages, and three on 9+ nights (brunch at The Wake or Razzle Dazzle doesn't count against that). The sweet spot: book a couple of must-tries early, then fill in the rest on board.
