Oasis of the Seas Live Blog – Day 5 – San Juan

I woke up early again, for my room service delivery at 7:30am. It arrived on time and was good as usual. Just my tea and some pastries.
Today, we planned to get off the ship in San Juan to see my friends grandmother who lives here. She was bringing us some homemade potato balls (papas rellenas).

We got dressed and went up for breakfast in the Windjammer. I’m not a fan of breakfast there at all. The  breakfast food (in my opinion) is bland and tasteless. I much prefer breakfast in the main dining room. I do plan on trying breakfast in Johnny Rockets before the end of the cruise though.

Time to get off the ship and walk around. We were docked near Old San Juan. A brand new Walgreens opened in the Sheraton hotel at the dock.

There were three ships in dock today.  Oasis of the Seas, Carnival Magic and Carnival Glory.  Over 12,000 people in port today. It was busy.

Now to explore more of the town…

Back on board after a great day in San Juan…

After some time in the Solarium (our favorite hangout on board), it was time to get ready for dinner. Formal night! Lobster night! Yum!

Smoked tomato soup (great flavor!)

French onion soup

Shrimp cocktail

Caesar salad

Vidalia onion tart (surprisingly good)

Insalata caprese

Broiled lobster tail (I had 3!)

Yukon gold potato gnocchi  (really good! They used short ribs from last night for the sauce!)

Chefs treat

Pineapple upside down cake (Just okay)

Chocolate molten cake (very good!)

Photo with amazing servers! Lisa and Dewa! They were extremely professional. Two of the best servers I’ve had on a cruise!

Now it’s time for the ice show – Frozen in Time – AMAZING! One of the best shows at sea. Honestly, Royal Caribbean has done of the best entertainment offerings at sea. By far. It blows the entertainment on Carnival and NCL out of the water.

They had a special guest from Ukraine who did sand art. He was amazing!

We got to meet Stuart, one of the performers, after the show.

Then off to the Royal Promenade for the 70’s show!

Another amazing day has come to a close. Loving this ship!!!! While there is good and bad on every ship and every cruise line, this by far has been our favorite cruise to date. The ship, food, staff and entertainment has been outstanding.
